Assess the health of all Rhode Islanders

Rhode Island is devoted to developing a collaborative and thorough approach to improving the health of all of its residents. But before the state could create this plan, it needed a comprehensive overview of Rhode Island’s current health needs.

Over the course of a year and a half, The MHC Group contributed project management, writing, and editing support for the Rhode Island State Health Improvement Assessment Report, which gathered and analyzed the most recent data about the state’s overarching physical and behavioral health burdens.

The MHC Group worked with a range of state agencies and other partners to create this nearly 150-page analysis of state population health data.

Investigate Rhode Islanders’ access to health care and coverage

In 2015, HealthRIght, a non-profit devoted to facilitating creative solutions to health care policy issues in Rhode Island, partnered with health policy experts to write a series of policy papers about the state’s health care system and areas of potential improvement.

The MHC Group worked with HealthRIght to write the second paper in that series, about access to health care and coverage in Rhode Island, highlighting recent successes and remaining challenges.
